Zimbra+350k Messages = Slow

I've had a few days of experience with Zimbra. It's not all roses.

First off, I made a small mistake.  I imported all of my mail, including old Bayesian filtering training messages from years ago.  Ultimately I ended up with 350,000 messages in my INBOX.  While Cyrus isn't exactly fast in such a situation, Zimbra is a complete dog.  Not just any dog, a dog that's road kill.  A dog that's so large and dead, you'll think it's a buffalo.  Do you have 1GB of RAM?  That's enough to run about 25% of Zimbra.  Get 4GB and be happy.  Double that to be even happier.  I had to steal a server with 4GB of RAM at work.  If I can't work out a deal with The Boss, then I guess I'm switching back to Cyrus.  Sad, but I need working mail more than a pretty web interface.
